Camping is something that is fun for the entire family. Whether you are new to camping, or are a seasoned veteran, there are always things you must consider before venturing out on your next camping trip.

This coming mid of May, I and my friends will be involving in this strenuous activity - mountain climbing and camping. I really can't wait to reach the OsmeƱa Peak in Dalaguete, Cebu and to enjoy swimming in the Kawasan Falls again.

Fun Advice For A Memorable Camping Trip

So for campers out there here are the best tips I can share to you.

Just because your tent is labeled waterproof, do not count on it to keep you dry when it rains. Pack a couple extra-large tarps to take along with you. Use one to set on the ground under your tent and keep one dry to use to cover your tent if it looks like it is going to rain hard.

While it is not a good idea to be wasteful, make sure to bring more food and water than you think you need. You do not want to get out intro the middle of the woods and run out of supplies. bringing more than enough will ensure you do not run across this issue.

Take along plenty of drinking water. You need to stay hydrated, and you will need the water to prepare your food. Depending on the nature of your camping trip, this water may also be needed for clean-up and washing of the hands. It is better to bring along more than you need than not enough.

If you are taking your children camping with you, don't forget to take walkie talkies along with you. Although each of you may own a cell phone, the area where you are camping may not have adequate coverage. It is best to invest in walkie talkies that have a range of several miles. By having walkie talkies or Family Radio Service (FRS) radio, you can remain in contact with all members of your family.

A great deal of preparation must be done before heading out on a camping trip. So it's better to follow the tips above since it is a great way to make sure that you've taken care of all the essentials so that your camping trip will be as safe and enjoyable as possible.
