I have a QR code scanner in my phone but I haven't use it. When doing shopping or just strolling at malls, I really didn't saw any signs of QR codes. It seems that companies or any business here in Cebu haven't generated their own QR codes yet.
Since I'm talking about QR code so let me share to you my little understanding and research about it.
What is QR Code?
QR Code (QR stands for Quick Response) means that it is a code or trademark that can be read instantly by a smartphone. Once scanned from your QR code reader it provides you an information and saves it in your phone.
QR code is originated in Japan where it was used first in an automotive industry.
QR code is one of the advertising strategies where it gives a quick and effortless access to any details of a certain website, service or product.
QR codes can be seen in a magazine, website or business place like restaurant, food stalls, etc.

How does it works?
Smartphones has put a barcode reader in everyone's pocket.
1. You need a QR code reader/scanner. Install the application with your iPhone or Android Phone. Here's an example of a QR code reader: Kaywa
2. Use your phone's application to scan the QR code. After scanning you'll quickly be taken to that business' mobile place page for you to read reviews, starred the page and commonly reading information.
Uses of QR Codes
Generating your business QR code regardless of how small or big your business is one way of advertising and promoting it. You can provide a details regarding your business- the contact numbers, product images, description and a lot more where potential customers after scanning your QR code will show it to their friends.
